-Vocab Quiz on chp. 17/18 on Thursday (3/7)
-Bring in toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls for flashlights. -If you want to keep your flashlight, you must bring in your own D batteries!
-There will be CRCT review each morning before school starting this week!

Monday:  Demonstrations of circuits/work with circuits

Tuesday - Wednesday:  Work on flashlights, jitterbugs, or bookwork.  Practice Worksheet...for a grade!  Worksheet due by end of Thursday for a grade!

Thursday:  Quiz on chp. 17-18 vocab - STUDY

Friday:  Begin chp. 18 notes on Magnetism

Wednesday:  Work on balancing equations. - Go over study guides for chp. 11 and 12 and also Law of Conservation of Mass.  The Keys are below.

Thursday:  The chp. 11/12/Law of Conservation of Matter Test will be postponed until Tuesday, February 26th.  There is a Valentine's banquet tonight and tomorrow our schedule is abbreviated!  Be sure to study over the weekend!
-We will be going over the study guides today, and if there is any time leftover, students will work on any missing/unfinished work.
Friday: Science Video - Abbreviated schedule today.  Students can finish up any missing unfinished work.
Students will play Jeopardy Review Game on the Monday that they return from Winter Break.  The test over chp. 11/12 and Law of Conservation of Matter will be Tuesday, February 26th.  So, study over winter break if possible!
Winter Break will be from Monday, Feb. 18 - Friday, Feb. 22.

Tuesday:  Possible quiz over notes - webquest over mixtures and compounds.  I handed out a study guide to students for the test.   If they fill it out, and get a parent signature, and have it on the day of the test, they will get an extra 5 points on test.  They must fulfill all 3 of these things in order to get the credit.

-There will be a test over chp. 4 next Thursday 1/31.  Begin Studying Notes.  Also, there might be a quiz in between now and then!

-If you wish to create a jitterbug for the electricty unit, please bring in $5 ASAP.  First 20 people to turn in the money gets a motor!

Electricy Project in February

In February, we will begin our electricity unit.  The students will have an opportunity to make 1 of 2 things.

1)  They will be able to make a jitter bug with a motor.

OR

2) They will be able to make a flashlight.

-If they choose the jitter bug, I'm asking that each student bring in $5 for cost of the motor and other supplies.  In addition, they will also need to bring in a blank or old cd that they don't mind ruining.  They will get to keep this project.  The $5 must be turned in by Friday, February 1st, as I will need to purchase the appropriate amount of supplies.

-If they choose to do the flashlight, the student should bring in an empty toilet paper roll.  If the student desires to keep his/her flashlight, they must bring in 2 D Batteries.  Otherwise, I will lend them batteries in class to create their flashlight, and then they must give me back the batteries at the end of the project.
