Electricy Project in February

In February, we will begin our electricity unit.  The students will have an opportunity to make 1 of 2 things.

1)  They will be able to make a jitter bug with a motor.

OR

2) They will be able to make a flashlight.

-If they choose the jitter bug, I'm asking that each student bring in $5 for cost of the motor and other supplies.  In addition, they will also need to bring in a blank or old cd that they don't mind ruining.  They will get to keep this project.  The $5 must be turned in by Friday, February 1st, as I will need to purchase the appropriate amount of supplies.

-If they choose to do the flashlight, the student should bring in an empty toilet paper roll.  If the student desires to keep his/her flashlight, they must bring in 2 D Batteries.  Otherwise, I will lend them batteries in class to create their flashlight, and then they must give me back the batteries at the end of the project.
